Biography

Sleeping Under 47 are a four piece punk rock band from northern Illinois, delivering a mix of old school melodic hardcore with a celtic twist. To put it best, it's simply good old fashoned punk rock 'n fucking roll!

Band members include Zak Beckman on lead guitar and vocals, Drew Michaels on rhythm guitar, backing vocals, and mandolin, Pat McDonough on bass and backing vocals, and Chet Kukuk on Drums and backing vocals.

Sleeping Under 47 (2002)

The group first got together in July 2001 with original members Zak Beckman (former Moonshinny), Chet Kukuk (Former Nethermind), and Pat Hellman: the original bassist / backing vocalist who appeared in their first album Dying in the Past (Released in 2003). They continued on playing, having a brief rhythm guitarist by the name of Brandon Dieter (former Sig Figs) join in, until October 2004, when the band members decided to call it quits.

Sleeping Under 47 would remain in hibernation until December 2005, when Zak, Chet and new bassist Bob Clark revived the group, going by the same name. They continued through the year until November 2006, when Drew Michaels joined up as the band's mandolin player. After a few months and a few practices, Drew became the group's rhythm guitarist and manolin player, and helped give that "celtic" feel for several of their songs.

Sleeping Under 47 (2006)

In July of 2007, Bob left the band and Pat McDonough (Former Bound to Change) came in as the replacement bassist.

Sleeping Under 47 has played with some of the greatest bands over the years, including The Toasters, Lee Rocker, Murphy's Law, The Tossers, The Killigans, Juicehead, The Briggs and many more!
